People Who Write

The role of a writer is not to say what we all can say, but what we are unable to say. ~Anaïs

I don’t know all of the reasons why this quotation by a deceased French journalist  is true, but I know enough to believe it. My first thought  is about the amount of past conditioning that all minds contain– much of which we discover does not suit the real person we become as we grow. People who are willing to write will always learn more than others because they are strong enough to question their thinking and their so-called reality. I readily think of an invaluable character I call Wise Woman, who appeared to me on paper from somewhere in the abyss of my mind. She gave me invaluable advice that my conscious, conditioned  mind would never have revealed.

People who write are bold, adventurous seekers. Can anyone disagree that the creation/discovery of a writer like Mary Shelly(Frankenstein) is invaluable and lasting contribution? Who would want to be without the rich language, characters, and history contained in the plays of William Shakespeare and Geoffrey Chaucer? Of course, I could go on and on with examples.

If you are are a writer, whether for love or money, be proud of yourself.
